Explore the Arts and Express Yourself

Bellevue High Artists, express your artistic creativity and imagination! Reflections 2025-2026 is now ON.

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life.

The Bellevue High School community is proud to announce the results of this year’s highly anticipated Reflections Art Competition! Our students truly embraced the 2025 theme, “I Belong,” delivering a stunning array of visual and literary art that confirmed the power of creativity and connection.
It was an extremely difficult decision for the judges, who were deeply impressed by the talent and thoughtful interpretation shown across all categories.

The following list details the awards for the local BHS entries. Congratulations to all participants!

Students marked with an asterisk (*) have entries that will move on to the rigorous BSD 405 District Level Competition!

We are excited to cheer on our advancing artists! Results from the District judging are typically available in February, and those students will be updated as soon as we receive the news.

Every student who contributed their work has shared a powerful message about identity and community. We thank you, BHS Artists, for inspiring us and for helping to define what it means to truly belong!

The theme for the 2025-2026 program year is “I Belong.” Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Accessible Arts.

Deadline for submitting entries is November 7th, 2025, 6 PM

Advancing entries from Bellevue High School will move on for judging at the Bellevue School District 405 level. A BSD 405 District council winner of each category will then advance to the Washington State level. Finally, a state winner of each category will advance to National competition.

Art Areas:

  • Choreography/Dance: originally choreographed dance composition.
  • Film/Video: original works, with or without sound, of animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or music video/film.
  • Literature – works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories, and lyrics.
  • Music Composition – original musical composition, with or without words.
  • Photography: color or black and white, included techniques: photogram, negative sandwich, and multiple exposure.
  • Visual Arts: drawing, painting in tempera, oil, acrylic, watercolor & t-shirt paints, computer generated art, two-dimensional collage, printmaking, needlework & leather tooling.
  • The Accessible Arts Division is open to students with a disability.

Entries are judged on creative ability and interpretation of the theme. Please give special consideration when crafting your artist’s statement since it carries the most weight in the judging rubric.
